LaoshiAI collects account information such as your email address, profile details provided by your sign-in provider, optional profile picture and age, authentication identifiers, plan status, and support messages you send us. We also collect source content you provide, including recordings, uploaded audio, documents, pasted text, captured images, YouTube links, and other materials you ask LaoshiAI to process.

We store generated and user-created study content in your account, including transcripts, Smart Notes, summaries, quizzes, flashcards, mind maps, translations, Ask AI threads, folders, and related metadata. We may also collect usage events, device information, app version, browser information, diagnostics, and error logs needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.

How We Use It

We use your information to create Feynman-style Smart Notes, transcripts, flashcards, quizzes, mind maps, translations, and Ask AI responses; keep your library synced across devices; authenticate your account; process subscriptions; respond to support requests; prevent abuse; debug errors; and improve app reliability and product quality.

Service Providers

LaoshiAI uses service providers for authentication, database and file storage, hosting, transcription, document extraction, AI generation, email delivery, analytics, payments, crash reporting, and app distribution. These providers process information only as needed to support LaoshiAI functionality, security, billing, and support.

Source Files and Generated Content

Files, recordings, transcripts, notes, and generated study materials may be transmitted to infrastructure and AI providers so LaoshiAI can process them. Some temporary processing files may be deleted after processing, while generated notes and account library content remain stored until you delete them or request account deletion.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

The web version may use essential cookies or similar local storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, secure sessions, and verify payments. We may use limited analytics or diagnostic technologies to understand app performance and improve the product.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers, when you direct us to share it, when required by law, to protect the rights and safety of users or LaoshiAI, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or reorganization.

Security and Retention

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. No service can guarantee perfect security. We keep account and study content for as long as needed to provide LaoshiAI, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain backups, unless you delete content or request deletion.

Children

LaoshiAI may be used by children only with appropriate parent, guardian, school, or other legally required consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.

Your Choices

You can delete notes from your library, sign out, manage subscriptions through the payment provider used at purchase, and request account deletion or data access. In the mobile app, use Profile > Delete account to send a deletion request, or contact support@laoshiaiapp.com.

International Use

LaoshiAI and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries. By using LaoshiAI, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in places that may have different data protection laws than your location.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as LaoshiAI changes. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice in the app or on the website.
